Visit to India - January 2010

India agreed to extend a billion dollar credit deal which carried a 1.75% annual interest and would be repayable in 20 years including a five-year grace period. The funds will be used for development of infrastructure in Bangladesh.

During her visit to India in January 2010, the construction of the Akhaurah-Agartala railway link that will connect India and Bangladesh by rail route, to be financed by India, was agreed upon.
