S Jaipal Reddy

Sudini Jaipal Reddy is the current Cabinet Minister of Science and Technology, Earth Sciences. He was the Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas of India earlier. Jaipal Reddy is a member of the Indian National Congress. Jaipal Reddy earlier served as the Minister of Urban Development and also headed the Group of Ministers (GoM) to supervise XIX Commonwealth Games in Delhi.



Jaipal Reddy said that Hyderabad will never be made a Union Territory or will be kept under Governor’s rule. He participated in the Telangana Congress’ thanksgiving rally at Warangal. 9 Nov 2013


On 14 Oct 2012, Jaipal Reddy rules out rollback or modifying cap on subsidized LPG cylinder. He said that such a move would cast a shadow on other recent reforms such as FDI in retail. Speaking to reporters at Petrotech 2012, the minister said that the next round of auctioning of blocks for exploration will be done only after fine-tuning the existing policy. He said that the 10th round of auctioning will be held in the current calendar year.
