Pawan Kumar Bansal

Pawan Kumar Bansal is a member of the 15th Lok Sabha of India. He is a politician of the Indian National Congress Party.

Pawan Bansal is currently the Minister of Railways. He was Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Minister of Water Resources in current lok sabha. He was also Minister of State, Ministry of Finance (Expenditure, Banking & Insurance) and Minister of state for Parliamentary Affairs in the First Manmohan Singh Cabinet.

Professional Biography

Pawan Kumar Bansal represents the Chandigarh constituency and is a member of the Indian National Congress (INC) political party.He studied in Government College, Sector 11, Chandigarh.

On 17 February 2011, Bansal indicated that the government may reach an agreement with the Opposition on formation of a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) to probe the 2G Spectrum Scam.

Personal Biography

Pawan Kumar Bansal was born to Late Shri Piara Lal Aggarwal (Tapa Wale) and Smt. Rukmani Devi on 16 July 1948. He was born in Sunam of Sangrur district in Punjab.

Pawan Kumar Bansal married Madhu Bansal on 12 March 1974. The couple has two sons.
