Nawaz Sharif on terrorism

Nawaz advised the PPP-led govt to resolve terrorism through dialogue. Veteran Indian journalist Kuldip Nayyar, commenting on Nawaz's stand on terrorism said, "Political considerations should not cloud Nawaz's judgement".

He asked for a National Assembly session on Mumbai attacks and said India needs to identify those responsible for the Mumbai attacks before blaming Pakistan.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif made a three day visit to India to attend the swearing-in ceremony of new Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Both leaders spoke for 40 minutes on various issues of both the countries. In his message before leaving for Pakistan, Sharif said "I had a good and constructive meeting with the Indian Prime Minister. My meeting in Delhi should be a historic opportunity for both the countries. We cannot achieve the common goal of development without peace and stability. We will have to alter confrontation into cooperation. We will have to overcome the legacy of mistrust and misgivings." May 27, 2014
