N Uttam Kumar Reddy

Nalamaada Uttam Kumar Reddy is a Congress politician from Nalgonda, Andhra Pradesh. He represents the Huzurnagar Assembly constituency. He was elected thrice to the Andhra Pradesh Assembly. He won with the largest majority in the Telangana during the 2009 elections.

In the meet organized by the Union Home Minister on Telangana issue, Uttam Kumar represented the Congress party.

Uttam Kumar was born on June 20, 1962. His native village is Tatipamula in Tirumalagiri mandal of Nalgonda district. He is a graduate in B.Sc. He is a former fighter pilot in the Indian Air Force. He flew the MiG 21 and MiG23 in frontline fighter squadrons.


He was born to Purushottam Reddy and Usha Devi. He is married to Padmavati. He has two siblings - a brother and a sister.

Stint at Air Force

During his service in the Indian Air Force, Uttam Kumar served at the border of India-Pakistan, India-China, Adampur, Amritsar, Patankot, Leh, Srinagar, Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, Bhuj, Chabuva, Baghdoga.

Uttam Kumar also served as the Controller of Security, Protocol, Administration, Foreign trips of President, etc. at the Rashtrapathi Bhavan.


In the 1994 assembly elections, Uttam Kumar contested from the Kodada constituency and lost. He won the subsequent 1999 and 2004 elections. In the 2009 elections, he contested from the newly formed Huzurnagar constituency and won by a large majority.

Uttam Kumar spends his leisure time reading and in sports.
