Mee Seva


Mee Seva is an eGovernance initiative of the Congress Government in Andhra Pradesh. The scheme was introduced on November 4, 2011 with 12 services initially.

The purpose of Mee Seva is to provide certificates and documents issued by various government departments to the citizens across the counter. The goal of Mee Seva is to eliminate middlemen and bring in transparency. Certificates / Documents like caste, income, registration etc. would be provided within 15 minutes.

As of January 2013, Mee Seva has 58 services under its fold in all districts of Andhra Pradesh. It caters to 70,000 citizens per day. There are more than 6000 Mee Seva centres in the State.

The Government has extended 16 more services, bringing the total to 58, under Mee Seva on 11 January 2013. Officials say that the total number of services offered will touch 100 in three months and the number of citizens that will be served would reach one lakh per day.

The Government also announced that it would bring out a legislation to pay penalty to the applicant if the certificate sought from Mee Seva is not delivered within the stipulated time.
