MM Pallam Raju is the Union Minister for Human Resource Development. He earlier served as the Minister of State for Defence.

Pallam Raju's father is MS Sanjeeva Rao. Pallam Raju is married to Mamatha Mallipudi. Pallam Raju is the brother of Anand Mallipudi.

As Minister of State for Defence

In July 2010, he called upon the Armed Forces to maintain the edge in conventional warfare.

He assured that the Army would remain on Srinagar streets helping the state administration in maintaining law and order till it was necessary.

2014 Elections

Pallam Raju is seeking a re-election from Kakinada Lok Sabha constituency on Congress ticket.

On February 8, 2011 Pallam Raju took part in the International Aerospace Awards for 2011 function. Speaking to reporters on the sideline, he said the Government will take responsible action against S-Band spectrum allocation.

On November 21, 2012, Pallam Raju said that the ministry would stick to the new format for admission into IITs and other Centrally-funded institutions in the country.
