About Li Keqiang

Li Keqiang (born: July 1, 1955 in Dingyuan, Chuzhou, Anhui)) is PRC State Council's Vice Chief Premier and is considered to be likely successor to Premier Wen Jiabao.

Personal Biography

Li Keqiang is born in a humble family. He is an ethnic Han and a native of Dingyuan, Anhui Province. He joined the work force in 1974.

Professional Biography

Li Keqiang is a member of the Standing Committee of the CCCPC Political Bureau and Deputy Director of the State Council's Earthquake Rescue & Relief Command.

On May 17, 2009, Wen Jiabao and Li Keqiang visited China's first diagnosed A/H1N1 flu patient surnamed Liu. They met the Beijing Ditan Hospital medical staff and inspected the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

Li Keqiang cancelled a visit to Australia in 2009 after China-Australia relations bleaked.
