Konda Surekha


Konda Surekha is a politician of the Congress Party in Andhra Pradesh.

Political Career

Konda Surekha is a Member of Legislative Assembly representing Parkal Assembly constituency. She served as Minister for Women Development and Child Welfare in YS Rajasekhara Reddy's cabinet. Surekha is a well known staunch supporter of the former Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy. After the demise of Rajasekhara Reddy, Surekha publicly announced her support to Jagan Mohan Reddy. She resigned to her minister post after the Congress high command chose K Rosaiah ahead of Jagan as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.

Surekha took part in Jagan's Odarpu Yatra and his 48-hour hunger strike demanding a better compensation package for the rain-hit farmers.
