Nandamuri Balakrishna, film actor and son of TDP founder NT Rama Rao is contesting in elections for the first time. He will contest from the Hindupur Assembly constituency which was represented by his father late Rama Rao.

On 16 April 2014, Balakrishna filed his affidavit to contest the election. In his affidavit, he mentioned that he has assets worth Rs 170,47,15,135. His wife Vasundhara has Rs 130,78,66,967 on her name and his son Mokshagna has Rs 22,92,84,929.
