Daggubati Venkateswara Rao is a politician from Andhra Pradesh. He is a former Congress leader.

He is a MLA representing Parchur constituency.

Political Career

Daggubati Venkateswara Rao served as a Minister in Andhra Pradesh Government. He also served as MLA, Lok Sabha MP and Rajya Sabha MP. Venkateswara Rao was elected to Andhra Pradesh Assembly in 1984, 1985, 1989, 2004 and 2009. He was elected to Lok Sabha in 1991 and to Rajya Sabha in 1996.

On 7 March 2014, Venkateswara Rao announced that he is quitting politics.


Venkateswara Rao is married to Daggubati Purandeswari who is the daughter of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister NT Rama Rao.
