An excellent work-life balancer, Obama takes more on gym when life intensifies. After becoming President-elect, Obama has reduced all his previous leisure activities like reading, watching TV, eating out, visiting friends but continued with gym, according to his friends. Obama likes playing Scrabble.

Obama is a fan of the Harry Potter series. In April 09, he met J K Rowling at the end of the Downing Street G20 dinner that he had read all her books, and that he also read them to his daughters Sasha and Malia.

Barack Obama revealed that he prefers Jay-Z to Kanye West. In April 2012, Barack Obama told 'The Atlantic' that he thinks though Kanye West is a very talented singer, but he still think West is a jackass for interrupting Taylor Swift speech at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.

Obama's sporting interests

Obama's sporting interests include American football and "soccer" he played in his early years in Indonesia. His interest in football is even said to extend to a connection with West Ham United, although that has been revealed to be based on nothing more than one visit some years ago. Chicago, considered Obama's adopted city, is strongly hoping Obama will help it get 2016 Olympic games.

Barack Obama is a supporter of the Chicago White Sox. He threw out the first pitch at the 2005 ALCS. In 2009, he threw out the ceremonial first pitch at the all star game wearing a White Sox jacket.

Barack Obama is also a Chicago Bears football fan. In his childhood, he was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. In 2011, Obama invited the 1985 Chicago Bears to the White House; the team had not visited the White House after their Super Bowl win in 1986 due to the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster.

Barack Obama is a huge basketball fan. He occasionally plays Basketball even during his busy schedule as the US President to keep up his fitness. Obama even played for his high school's basketball team. His number was 23.

Obama is not a big fan of television.

He loves to make chili and has been preparing it using his own family recipe.
