Asaduddin Owaisi

Asaduddin Owaisi is a Politician from Andhra Pradesh.

He is the president of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen, a political party in Andhra Pradesh. He was a MLA in Andhra Pradesh for two terms from 1994-2003. He was elected a Member of Parliament from Hyderabad for the 14th Lok Sabha in 2004. He was later re-elected for a second term in 2009.

Owaisi was born on May 13, 1969. He is a Barrister and a Statesman.

His brother Akbaruddin Owaisi is a MLA representing Chandrayangutta constituency.


A case was filed against Asaduddin Owaisi in 2005 when he entered into an argument with the then district collector of Medak Anil Kumar Singhal and joint collector Bhim Nayak. Asaduddin allegedly pushed the Collector and other officials aside when they tried to remove a prayer place near Muttangi. Asaduddin has appeared before the court in 2009 before the general elections and was granted bail.


Reacting to the arrest of his brother and Chandrayangutta MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi for alleged hate speech, Assaduddin has warned that the move will prove costly to the Congress party. He said they will ensure that the Congress will lose power in the State. Assaduddin expressed confidence that his brother would be exonerated by the court of law. Jan 8, 2013

Asaduddin Owaisi was granted bail after four days of spending time in jail. The MIM chief was released upon furnishing a deposit of Rs. 10,000 and two sureties. Fifth Additional and Sessions Judge Y Aravinda Reddy granted the bail and asked Asaduddin to present himself before the court against on January 28 for further hearing. After being released from the jail, Asaduddin speaking to the media, accused the Congress government of vendetta in arresting him and his brother Akbaruddin Owaisi. Jan 24, 2013
