The 2012 Yemmiganur Assembly Bye-Elections was held to elect the representative of Yemmiganur constituency to the Andhra Pradesh assembly. The election was necessitated as the sitting MLA K Chennakeshava Reddy was disqualified by the Speaker Nadendla Manohar Reddy.

Result: YSR Congress Party candidate K Chennakeshava Reddy won the Yemmiganur constituency by-poll by a majority of 20,103 votes. This marked the first victory in the June 2012 by-elections in 18 assembly constituencies for the YSR Congress Party.

K Chennakeshava Reddy is the candidate of the YSR Congress Party for the 2012 by-election. He was a Congress party MLA and has publicly supported Kadapa MP and YSR Congress Party chief Jagan Mohan Reddy. He also defied the Congress party's whip and voted against the government in the no-confidence motion sponsored by the Telugu Desam Party. He was disqualified along with 15 other Congress MLAs on March 3, 2012.

The Congress party has decided to nominate Rudra Goud for the by-election. On March 29, 2012 PCC president Botcha Satyanarayana held meeting with E Pratap Reddy and T G Venkatesh to discuss about the Yemmiganur by-polls.
