M K Narayanan is the Governor of West Bengal. He is the former Indian National Security Advisor.

Indo-US Nuclear Deal

Narayanan played an important role in getting the Indo-US Nuclear Deal done. He is with Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh on the tour to the US in Septemeber 2008.

Narayanan said the deal is important for both countries if both the countries consider it in its national interest soon after the deal got congressional nod. Narayanan was present at the dinner hosted by US President for the visiting Indian team.

Narayanan will be meeting his Pakistani counterpart Mahmud Ali Durrani who will be on a 5-day tour to India.

Speaking to a television interview in September 09, Narayanan said India is better prepared to deal with such a situation, having drawn lessons from the earlier Mumbai terror attacks
