Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck

Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck is the 5th and current reigning Dragon King of the Kingdom of Bhutan. He became the king of Bhutan on December 14, 2006 being crowned on November 6, 2008.

Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck is born to Jigme Singye Wangchuck and Tshering Yangdon on February 21, 1980 at Dechencholing Palace in Bhutan. He married Jetsun Pema on October 13, 2011.

2011 India Visit

Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck began his nine-day visit to India on October 23, 2011 along with his newlywed queen Jetsun Pema. The royal couple will meet President, Pratibha Devisingh Patil, Vice President Hamid Ansari and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, besides other dignitaries.
