2012 Rahul Gandhi visit to Punjab

AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi went on a two-day visit to Punjab in October 2012.

On 11 October 2012, Rahul Gandhi has called on the youth of the country to come forward and "cleanse and change politics". He expressed concern on the youth in Punjab saying that seven out of 10 youths in the state are having problem of drugs.

Rahul Gandhi also lashed out against the Punjab government saying it is not giving unemployment allowance to the young people.

Rahul Gandhi addressed a rally of the National Students Union of India (NSUI) at Panjab University campus in Chandigarh. He took out on the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party and National Democratic Alliance. "Our government brought FDI. When the BJP and NDA government were in Delhi, they were not opposed to FDI. We did it, they are opposing it. We gave MGNREGA (rural employment scheme) and land acquisition bill, they have opposed it too," he said.
