Supports FDI in multi-brand retail

Rahul Gandhi has addressed the National Executive of Indian Youth Congress meeting in Srinagar. Addressing the party workers, he said that the Foreign Direct Investment in multi-brand retail will help farmers as it would remove the middlemen from the supply gain. The FDI will also generate new jobs, he said. Farmers will be able to store their produce safely for a longer duration which will help ensure best value for their crops. The AICC general secretary said that in contemporary world, all economies are interconnected and has impact on each other.

Rahul Gandhi has sent invitations to industrialist to join him in Jammu and Kashmir in a move that is expected to allay corporate concerns about investing in Jammu and Kashmir.

Chairman of the Tata group Ratan Tata, chairman of the Aditya Birla group Kumarmangalam Birla, HDFC chairman Deepak Parikh, Managing Director of Baja Auto Rajeev Bajaj and Chairman & MD of Wipro Aziz Premji will be present during Rahul Gandhi's visit at the Kashmir University campus on 5 October 2012.

Rahul Gandhi would also attend a state Youth Congress Conference in Srinagar. He is also expected to meet Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
