About Ijaz Butt

Ijaz Butt is a former Pakistani Test Cricketer. He took over as the Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board after Nasim Ashraf stepped down.

As PCB Chairman

Soon after Ijaz being named as the Chairman of the PBC, chief selector Salahuddin Ahmad resigned saying that he wanted to give "room" to the new chief to appoint a chief selector of his own choice. Few Pakistani cricketers, such as Abdul Qadir hailed Ijaz's appointment.

Ijaz hinted about playing home series at neutral venues if security scene remains same. He felt coach Geoff Lawson has not shown any notable performances and that PCB could better tell what is expected from Lawson.

In September 09, he said that he has had constructive talks with Emirates Cricket Board officials about holding a proposed ODI series against New Zealand there later this year.
