Lok Ayukta of Andhra Pradesh

Lok Ayukta of Andhra Pradesh is an anti-corruption ombudsman organization in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India.

The LokAyukta helps people bring corruption amongst the politicians and officers in the government service to public attention.

The A.P. Lokayukta Act 11 of 1983 came into force with effect from November 1, 1983. The Lok Ayukta Institution started functioning from November 15, 1983 and since then this Institution has been able to march forward as an effective instrument in the hands of the public for curbing the evil of corruption and maladministration.

On December 18, 2012 Lok Ayukta B Subhashan Reddy rejected a complaint made by six members of Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) against the Commission's Secretary Poonam Malakondaiah. The members in their complaint claimed that they were being neglected and left out of the decision-making process. The complaint is specifically directed against APPSC Secretary. Following the complaint, Subhashan Reddy sought a report from APPSC Secretary who said in the preliminary hearing that she had only discharged her duties as an administration under the directions of Chairperson Rachel Chatterjee.
