About Interpol

Interpol (actual name: International Criminal Police Organization; established: 1923) is an international police organization which works in the collaboration and information sharing between police departments of its 188 member countries. The Interpol periodically issues a most-wanted people list to its member countries.

Interpol Notices

Interpol releases seven types of notices

Red Notice: To seek the arrest or provisional arrest of wanted persons with a view to extradition.
Yellow Notice: To help locate missing persons, often minors, or to help identify persons who are unable to identify themselves.
Blue Notice: To collect additional information about a person’s identity or activities in relation to a crime.
Black Notice: To seek information on unidentified bodies.
Green Notice: To provide warnings and criminal intelligence about persons who have committed criminal offences and are likely to repeat these crimes in other countries.
Orange Notice: To warn police, public entities and other international organizations about potential threats from disguised weapons, parcel bombs and other dangerous materials.

Timelines

  • In October 09, Interpol and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Academy (MACA) has entered into a collaboration agreement to establish and strengthen collaborative efforts on anti-corruption and training initiatives and to promote a formal channel of communication between both parties to ensure a rapid exchange of ideas and information. Interpol will be training MACA personnel in fighting corruption.
