In October 09, CRPF organized a five-day soccer tournament to usher confidence among the villagers in an attempt to minimize the unease among locals in the Maoist-infested area of West Bengals West Medinipur district.

In November 09, Indian Home Minister P. Chidambaram applauded the CRPF on its 70th anniversary.

In December 09, the Indian Home ministry has given a go ahead for creation of 38 new battalions including two women battalions in CRPF. Maoists in Jharkhand triggered an IED (Improved Explosive Device) blast killing a CRPF jawan. The CRPF Paramilitary wing was involved in a joint operation with state police named 'Jharkhand Jaguar' in Ranchi.

In June 2010, Maoist leader Dashrath Mahto was arrested in Jharkhand's Hazaribag district in a joint operation by CRPF and police.

On August 22, 2010, the State Police and the CRPF, in a joint operation arrested a suspected Maoist from the Sambalpur jungles in Kanker region of Chhattisgarhs Bijapur District.
