About Anti-Terrorist Squad

The Anti-Terrorist Squad or ATS is a security enforcement force setup to tackle anti terrorist activites. The Mumbai ATS played an important role in countering the Mumbai terror strikes of November 2008. Its chief Hemant Karkare lost his life in the gun battle at the Taj Mahal Palace and Tower Hotel, Mumbai on November 27, 2008.
