About S H Kapadia

Justice S H Kapadia is the former and 38th Chief Justice of India. He took oath from the Indian President Pratibha Devisingh Patil at Rashtrapati Bhawan on May 12, 2010.

Chief Justice of Supreme Court of India

SH Kapadia assumed office as the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of India in May 2010.

Soon after assuming office, he dispensed the concept of oral mentioning where lawyers could expedite their matters for early hearing.

Justice Kapadia retired on September 28, 2012. Justice Altamas Kabir is his successor.
