About Allahabad High Court

The Allahabad High Court is a high court having jurisdiction over the Uttar Pradesh, India. The Court is having jurisdiction of Uttar Pradesh since 1950 and was one of the first high courts to be established in India.

Chief Justice

Syed Rafat Alam is the current Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court. He was sworn in 2010 and will occupy the position till 2012.

The maximum number of sanctioned judges in the Allahabad High Court is 160, the highest in the country. The permanent bench is at Lucknow.
