George Lucas


George Walton Lucas, Jr., is an American film producer, screenwriter, director, and entrepreneur.

He is well known as the creator of the space opera franchise Star Wars and the archaeologist-adventurer character Indiana Jones.

Professional Career

George Lucas founded the Lucasfilm and sold it to The Walt Disney Company on 30 October 2012. The deal was worth $4.05 billion. Lucas later revealed that he felt sad selling the company, but that he felt its time to move on from the Star Wars franchise.

Lucas announced that majority of the proceeds of the sale would go to educational causes.
