NDA Spectrum Allocation Scam

The NDA Spectrum Allocation Scam is about the alleged irregularities in the spectrum allocation in Indian during the NDA regime.

The CBI is investigation the irregularities and ha filed a chargesheet before special CBI judge OP Saini in New Delhi on 21 December 2012. Three companies Bharti Airtel and Vodafone India nd Hutchison Max and Sterling Cellular were included in the chargesheet and the loss to the exchequer is mentioned to be Rs 846 crore. Retired IAS and former telecom secretary Shyamal Ghosh has also been named as accused in the chargesheet.

The CBI told the court that there are 73 witnesses in the case and that JR Gupta, former deputy director general (VAS) cell of DoT and former director of BSNL, who was named in the FIR as one of the accused has been made a witness.
