2009 Barack Obama's visit to Ghana

About 2009 Barack Obama's visit to Ghana

US President Barack Obama will be visiting Ghana in July 2009 for the first time since his taking office. The US First Couple will stop at Ghana after the completion of their Russian tour and the G8 Summit. The town of Accra is richly prepared for the Ghanian leader John Atta-Mills and Obama meeting. Banners and hoardings with the text 'Partnership for Change' are seen all over. Obama family will be visiting an old slave fort called Cape Coast Castle.

However, his first trip to Sub-Saharan Africa wont include a stop in his fathers Kenyan homeland because the violence-plagued country's leaders do not seem to be moving into a permanent reconciliation that would allow the country to move forward.
