Yuvraj Singh is an Indian cricketer. He is captain for the Punjab Kings XI team in the Indian Premier League.

Yuvraj Singh manages a non-profit organization called the Yuvraj Singh foundation. The foundation believes that every life is precious and seeks to bring parity amongst all phases of the society. South African cricketer Jacques Kallis announced in March 2012 that he will make a personal donation to the foundation.

On April 2, 2010, Yuvraj Singh slammed reports that he was deliberately under performing in the 2010 Indian Premier League after being stripped of captaincy. Kumar Sangakkara was made the captain of the Kings XI Punjab team after Yuvraj Singh led the side in the first and second IPL seasons. "I am disgusted and horrified that a news reporter can stoop down to such a level. I, in all my career; haven't seen such a disgusting piece of news", Yuvraj tweed on his twitter page.

Mediastinal Seminoma

In 2011, it was found that Yuvraj Singh is suffering with a non-malignant tumour. The diagnosis was changed in February 2012 to a condition called "mediastinal seminoma". He underwent chemotherapy at the Boston Medical Center in the United States. American cyclist Lance Armstrong who successfully beat cancer was also treated at the same hospital. BCCI chairman of selectors, Kris Srikkanth offered prayers at Tirupati for Yuvraj's speedy recovery. On March 18, 2012, Yuvraj Singh announced that he was discharged from the hospital after undergoing chemotheerapy.
