Sourav Ganguly is a former Indian cricketer. He is regarded as one of the finest captains to lead the Indian side.

He served as the captain of the Indian One Day and Test team. He is former captain of Kolkata Knight Riders team in the Indian Premier League. Sourav Ganguly currently leads the Pune Warriors India side.

Personal Biography

Ganguly celebrated 2009 Holi at his wifes dance school - the Donas dance academy.

Professional Biography

In July 2009, he looked forward to an administrative stint in his home state of West Bengal.

Pune Warriors India

He led the Pune Warriors India side in the 2012 season. Franchise owner Subroto Roy on May 10, 2012 said that Sourav Ganguly will take up the mentoring role of the side in the 2013 season. Speaking to a news channel, Subroto Roy said "Sourav will be the mentor next season. We rather pushed him to play in IPL 5 as he is such a fantastic captain.".

Expresses Interest in Coaching India

In an interview to a television channel in September 2012, Sourav Ganguly has expressed interest in coaching the Indian national side. He said that if BCCI feels that he will be a good coach, he will be ready. Sourav Ganguly was once a strong advocate of foreign coaches for Indian team.
