Shoaib Akhtar is a fast bowler in the Pakistani Cricket team. He plays for the Kolkata Knight Riders team in the Indian Premier League.

Professional Biography


Akhtar was out of the Pakistan squad many times for various reasons. He is out of his national side for quite some time and lately because of non payment of fine of Rs 70 lakhs imposed by the PCB.

Akhtar was selected for Pak T20 squad for the four-Nation Twenty20 tournament to be held in Toronto, Canada from October 10-13, 2008.

Akhtar was named in the team that plays the first ODI against England, post the 2010 Lord Test Match Cricket betting / Spot Fixing Scandal.

  • Shoaib Akhtar declined an offer by Bollywood film maker Mahesh Bhatt who gave a role in the movie Gangster but has changed his mind when a Bangalore-based film director approached him later.
  • Reports say that Akhtar can easily make $25,000 to $150,000 a year through commercials.
