A special audit done by a Jaipur-based firm shows RCom has inflated revenues and has under-paid license and spectrum fee by Rs 316 crore in FY07-08. A leading business media outlet which got a copy of executive summary report says that RCom has under-reported Rs 808 crore in FY07 and Rs 1,991 crore in FY08 that led to low license and spectrum fee to the Department of Telecom (DoT). The DoT audit claims a gap of Rs. 2900 crores in the company's actual and stated revenue. If the allegations are found to be correct, there will be a punishment of imprisionment for upto 10 years. On October 14, 2009, the SEBI said it will look into the misrepresentation of revenue by RCom.
