Reed Hastings


Wilmot Reed Hastings, Jr. is an entrepreneur and education philanthropist. He is the CEO of Netflix, and is on the boards of Microsoft, Facebook, and numerous non-profit organizations.

In 1998 Hastings and Marc Randolph co-founded Netflix.

After Five and a half years on the board of Microsoft, Reed Hastings will leave the Microsoft's board of directors in November 2012. It was announced on 9 October 2012 that Hastings will step down from the board at the Microsoft's annual meeting on November 28. According to the documents filed on 9 Oct 2012, Microsoft has paid Hastings $265,000 in cash and stock during the last fiscal year.

As of October 2012, Reed Hastings owns about 226,000 shares of Microsoft Corp which is worth $6.6 million.
