Kiran Karnik is the former President of NASSCOM. On January 11, 2009, he is named one of the Independent Director of the troubled IT company Satyam Computer Services and was responsible for steering the company and bring it out of sinking situation. In October 09, he was appointed as the additional director on the board of telecom services company Sasken Communication Technologies Ltd.

Professional Biography


Karnik worked for the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) for over 20 years.

With Discovery Networks

Mr. Karnik worked for Discovery Networks in India from 1995 - 2001 as its Managing Director. His efforts for the launch of Discovery Channel in South Asia in August 1995 and Animal Planet ( a Discovery – BBC joint venture) in 1999 are well known.
