Naughty by Nature is a Grammy Award-winning American hip hop group that at the time of its formation in 1989 consisted of Treach, Vin Rock, and the DJ Kay. Their first album, The Independent Leaders, appeared in 1989 under the name The New Style. They were soon taken under the wing of Queen Latifah and changed their name shortly thereafter. Their eponymous album was released in 1991 and produced their Jackson 5 sampling hit "O.P.P." The album peaked at No.16 on the Billboard charts.
