Labor MP Mike Rann became South Australia's 44th Premier after the State election in March 2002 and was re-elected in March 2006.

Sex allegations - November 09

In November 09, Michelle Chantelois, a barmaid, given a paid television interview in which she claims she had sex with Mr Rann in his Parliament House office before he remarried. Chantelois detailed how a near-decade-long friendship with Rann became an intimate relationship. The friendship blossomed when she got as job as a waitress in the state parliament bar and dining room. Rann appeared silent and didnt speak to the media when he arrived at the Adelaide Revival Fellowship Centre to take part in a community cabinet meeting in Southern Adelaide on November 23, 2009, the day he made his first public appearance after the scadal broke out.

In late November 09, she challenged Rann to take a lie detector test after he strongly denied having had sex with her.
