Deepika Kumari is an Indian archer.

Deepika Kumari won the Gold medal in the 2010 Commonwealth Games at Delhi in the woman's individual recurve event where she defeated England's Alison Jane Williamson. Deepika also won a gold medal in the women's team recurve event along with Dola Banerjee and Bombayala Devi. Chief Minister of Jharkand Arjun Munda, anounced a reward of 1 million rupees for winning the gold medals in the Commonwealth games.

In July 2009, Deepika won the 11th Youth World archery Championship held in Ogden, Utah, USA. Trained at the Tata Archery academy at Ranchi, Deepika is also the a senior National and sub-junior National champion. She won the cadet recurve women's gold medal at the 11th Youth World Archery Championship at Ogden (Utah) in the U.S. to emerge as the World champion in archery. Now, with the title under her belt, Deepika aims at winning a medal at the 2012 London Olympics. With this victory at international level, Deepika has become the second Indian to win the title after Palton Hansda won the World champion at Merida (Mexico) in 2006 by winning the junior compound individual gold medal.

2012 Archery World Cup

Deepika Kumari has won the silver medal in the 2012 Archery World Cup in Tokyo, Japan. Deepika lost in the final, on 23 September 2012, 4-6 in a tight battle to world no. 1 Ki Bo Bae of Korea. Deepika won the first two sets 26-23, 27-25, but Ko Bae fought back winning the next two 28-24 and 26-23. Deepika Kumari beat Jennifer Nichols of USA 6-2 in the semifinals and beat Kanie Miki of Japan 7-1 in the quarterfinals.
