Chatrapati Shivaji Airport

Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport is the airport located in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. It is formerly called Sahar International Airport.

As of 2015, the Mumbai Airport uses a single runway at a time for flight operations.


On 15 May 2015, the Mumbai airport has handled a record 851 flights in a day. The sudden increase in flights is attributed towards the increase in number of chartered flights. The previous record was in February when the airport has seen 840 takeoffs. A number of chartered flights used the Mumbai Airport in February as a number of dignitaries attended the funeral of deputy chief minister RR Patil.
