Manisha Koirala

Manisha Koirala is a Nepali-Indian actress. She has appeared in a number of Indian films. Manisha Koirala also served as a UNFPA Goodwill Ambassador and social activist.

Koirala is also an accomplished Bharatnatyam and Manipuri dancer.

She made her acting debut in the Nepali film Pheri Bhetaula (1989) and made her Bollywood debut in Saudagar (1991). She went on to establish herself as one of the leading actresses in the 90s with such mainstream films as 1942: A Love Story (1994), Agni Sakshi (1996) and Gupt (1997).

Health Problems

Manisha Koirala was admitted to Jaslok Hospital on 28 November 2012 after she fell unconscious. Media reports said that Koirala has contracted Cancer, though the family has not revealed the nature of her illness. Koirala underwent several medical tests and investigations at the hospital.

She was discharged on 30 November 2012 as she is planning to go abroad for further treatment. The family has obtained emergency US visas for their travel.
