Sage Stallone died of heart attack says his toxicology report

Sage Stallone died of a heart attack and not because of excessive drug usage. The toxicology report of Sage Stallone, the son of Sylvester Stallone showed that there were no signs of excessive drug usage and it was a natural death. According to the Los Angeles coroner's office, Sage Stallone suffered from coronary heart disease which was caused by atherosclerosis. The disease brought on the heart attack that led to his death.

The toxicology report showed that there was a small amount of sedative hydrocodone, commonly known as Vicodin, in the body, which was at acceptable level. No other drugs were found in the body. The full report is expected next week.

The 36-year-old Sage Stallone was found dead at his Hollywood home on July 13, 2012. Media reports at that time presumed the death because of an overdose. Authorities have ruled out foul play in the death at that time. Sage Stallone was mourned at a private service at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church on July 21, 2012.

Speaking about his son's death on Good Morning America, Sylvester Stallone said "It's tough. It's very very tough. It's a horrible situation but, time, hopefully will heal and you try to get through it. It's something that's a reality in life."
