L'Oreal Paris splashes cash for few hours of Cheryl Cole's time at Cannes

May 19, 2012 - London

Cheryl Cole is jetting out for a lightning visit to the Cannes film festival on Sunday as the ambassador for L'Oreal Paris.

The 28-year-old singer has to fly back almost immediately, as she is premiering her Hollywood debut in 'What To Expect When You're Expecting' in London on Tuesday.

She will also be performing on 'The Voice' next Saturday, which means intensive rehearsals during the week.

"It's hectic for Cheryl at the moment, launching her comeback single, Call My Name, which happens to coincide with the release of the film," the Mirror quoted a source as saying.

"But she planned to go to Cannes a while back, along with the other L'Oreal spokeswomen.

"Her visit is being timed with military precision.

"She is jetting in, attending a party and leaving in the time it takes most people to unpack.

"The cost is astronomical but it's important Cheryl's there," the source said.

The axed 'X Factor' judge is a spokesmodel for the brand along with Eva Longoria, Jane Fonda and Beyonce, who are all rumoured to be attending one of Cannes' biggest bashes on Sunday.

The beauty firm has pulled out all the stops to get Cheryl there.

"She will fly in on a private jet, then dash to the event.

"She has a selection of outfits, worth around £10,000 all together, and a range of diamonds to wear," the source added.

In 2010, Cole was paid 250,000 pounds to play a 30-minute set for luxury jewellery brand de Grisogono at the festival.
