Catherine Zeta Jones gave birth to son listening Tom Jones' hits

April 6, 2012 - London

Tom Jones has revealed that Catherine Zeta Jones insisted on having his song 'What's New Pussycat' playing in the background while she gave birth to her first baby.

Her son Dylan Michael Douglas was born in August 2000.

"People have said to me a few times that children have been conceived while my music has been played," Jones told The Sun newspaper.

"But I think one of my biggest compliments I had was when Catherine Zeta Jones was giving birth to her first child.

"She had to have 'What's New Pussycat' playing.

"As soon as she started to have to push, she said, 'Put Tom on and I'll push,'" he added.

The Welsh singer, who is on the panel of BBC1 singing competition 'The Voice', made the revelation after call centre worker Chris Grixti performed the hit recorded by Jones in 1966 as part of his audition on the show.
