Rioter given eight-month sentence for looting Liam Gallagher's store

August 12, 2011 - Washington

A man has been sentenced to eight months imprisonment for plundering Liam Gallagher's store in Manchester during the riots in UK earlier this week.

The unrest, which started in London on 8th August, spread northwards on the 9th, with hooligans attacking Manchester's city centre, plundering shops and setting buildings on fire, Contactmusic reported.

An estimated 4,35,200 dollars worth of stock was stolen, with Gallagher's Pretty Green boutique among the premises turned upside down.

Owen Flanagan, the 28-year-old rioter, pleaded guilty on two counts of burglary and was granted an eight-month jail sentence after stealing items worth 280 dollars from Gallagher's shop.
