Paul McCartney scared of recurring nightmares of audience walking out

December 4, 2011 - London

Former Beatles member Sir Paul McCartney has revealed that he suffers from a recurring nightmare, in which the audience walks out during a Beatles gig.

The 69-year-old singer says that in his dream he sees the audience leaving when he is singing 'From Me To You'.

"I'm with The Beatles and it's going great, then people start leaving. I turn to the others and go, 'Oh God! Long Tall Sally - that'll get them back,'" The Mirror quoted him as saying.

Macca further reveals that it all goes back to the days when Paul and John Lennon were in 'The Quarrymen'.

"The first time we ever played - pre-Beatles - I screwed up. So I never played lead guitar again.

"When The Beatles did Wembley for the first time, I felt sick. I thought, 'I've got to give this up,'" he said.

The pop legend admits that even now he faces tough crowds at some events, with people "just standing there".

"But we always manage to get them back in the end," he added.
