MJ's 'caring' doc Murray called 'best' by pals and ex-patients

October 27, 2011 - London

Michael Jackson's doctor Conrad Murray was a caring physician who would do anything for patients, a court heard the doctor's friends and ex-patients as saying.

Several of Murray's friends and ex-patients spoke up for the cardiologist, who is accused of the involuntary manslaughter of Jackson, on the 18th day of the trial in Los Angeles.

One 68-year-old man, who describes himself as Murray's "best friend", denied claims that the physician rushed through procedures, was motivated by money or abandoned his patients.

"I knew his love, compassion and his feelings for his patients," the Daily Star quoted another man called Gerry Causey, who was treated for heart problems in Las Vegas, as telling the court.

"You can ask any one and they would say the same thing. He's the best doctor I've ever been to," Causey added.
