J.Lo felt she's gonna die after finding lump on daughter's head

December 19, 2011 - Washington

Jennifer Lopez has revealed how she got panicked after she discovered a lump on daughter Emme's head when she was just days old.

"I just remember that feeling of something is wrong with that baby and I'm gonna die," the New York Post quoted the actress as telling CNN in her "Big Stars Big Giving" special.

Shortly after Emme and twin brother Max were born in 2008, Lopez described how she found the lump and got panicked.

"I remember looking at Marc [Anthony] and going, 'We should call the doctor'. I started panicking a little bit and he was panicking too because we were thinking did somebody drop her when we weren't looking?" she recalled.

" I just remember looking at him and saying if this baby . . . if Emme's not going to be OK . . . I'm not going to be OK. He's like . . . I'm not going to be OK . . . none of us are going to be OK," she stated.

The "American Idol" judge and Anthony rushed Emme to the hospital where she underwent a series of tests.

"Luckily for us, it turned out OK," Lopez said.

"I was (thinking) like what if I didn't have that? What if I didn't have access to great health care? What if I was a mom just sitting there and there was something wrong with my baby and there was nothing I could do about it?" she added.

To help provide pediatric medical services to the less fortunate, Lopez started the Maribel Foundation, named after Marc's sister Maribel who died of Brain cancer at 8.
