Amy Winehouse had told her doctor she didn't want to die

October 27, 2011 - Melbourne

Amy Winehouse had met her doctor, Dr Christina Romete the night before she drank herself to death saying that she was looking towards the future and didn't want to die.

Winehouse's toxicology tests stated the late singer's cause of death as misadventure by excessive drinking.

"On the night I saw her, before she died she was tipsy but was self-aware and was able to carry out a full conversation," quoted Dr Romete as saying

"I was not concerned that she was suicidal. She was looking forward to the future and we were discussing plans for her upcoming birthday party."

"She had previously said that she did not want to die and said that night, 'I have not achieved things I wanted to do.'"

According to the 'Rehab' hitmaker's doctor, Winehouse was headstrong about how she should deal with her alcohol problems.

"She had her own way and was very determined to do everything her own way, including any form of therapy. She had very strict views."

"She was looking forward to the future," the doctor added.
