Quentin Tarantino wants Dame Helen Mirren to play the role of the Queen, it has emerged.

Melbourne, January 21 : Quentin Tarantino wants Dame Helen Mirren to play the role of the Queen, it has emerged.

The 'Inglorious Basterds' helmer has approached the actress to play a foul-mouthed medieval monarch, the Sun reports.

"It will feature his trademarks, bloody violence and foul language," News.com.au quoted a source as saying.

The insider added: "Helen has never worked with Tarantino and is interested. If the film goes into production it's likely she will play a part."

Mirren had bagged an Oscar for her role as the Queen Elizabeth II in the movie 'The Queen' in 2006.
