Ex-American Idol singer Clay Aiken dubs Adam Lambert awful

Former American Idol runner-up Clay Aiken has criticised this seasons finalist Adam Lambert, dubbing the latter awful.

New York, May 23 : Former American Idol runner-up Clay Aiken has criticised this season's finalist Adam Lambert, dubbing the latter "awful".

Pop singer Clay, who began his rise to fame on the second season of the television program in 2003, said 27-year-old Adam was nothing less than frightening, reports Defamer.com.

"I happened to turn it during the minute that Adam Lambert was singing 'Ring of Fire' and, at that moment, thought my ears would bleed," the New York Daily News quoted him as saying on his blog.

"Contrived, awful, and slightly frightening!" he added.

Aiken's apparent bitterness comes after the Chicago Sun-Times previously reported that he had offered Lambert to record duets and even a concert tour but was left facing disappointment.
