Macca defends Ringo Starrs outburst against eager fans

Sir Paul McCartney has come out in defence of former band member Ringo Starr for his recent outburst against eager fans, insisting that he should be praised for his honesty.

Washington, Nov 28 : Sir Paul McCartney has come out in defence of former band member Ringo Starr for his recent outburst against eager fans, insisting that he should be praised for his honesty.

The Beatles drummer had saddened his fans after he asked them to stop sending him requests for autographs, saying he was too busy to scrawl his name on memorabilia.

However, he later retreated, insisting he was only addressing opportunists attempting to sell signed items online.

However, McCartney insists that Starr's only fault was his honesty.

"We love Ringo... In the world that we live in you're not supposed to say that, so he's always getting in trouble for speaking his mind... I think it's a good quality. It's called honesty, actually," Contactmusic quoted him, as saying.
